Medirest is our healthcare brand providing specialist food, hospitality and support services to residents and patients in hospitals, aged care and senior living facilities throughout New Zealand.

So, that's a little bit about what we do, now to 'what will you be doing with us?'

We are looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Hands to work at our Taranaki Base Hospital in New Plymouth. Hours of work are casual, on an as and when required basis.

The great things you'll do:

In this position you will be responsible for basic food preparation, washing dishes, cash handling and providing superb customer service as well as assisting in general kitchen and cleaning duties.

What we are looking for:

If you're our perfect candidate you will be a team player, have good time management and customer care skills, with a friendly outgoing personality and a 'can do' attitude. You will adhere to the company's procedures and policies contributing to working in a safe work place. Ideally you will already have some experience in food preparation and kitchen work, hold a food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167) or be happy to train for one. You will have superior customer service skills but most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
