About the role and who we are looking for:

We are looking for Kitchen Assistants to produced healthy, daily school packed lunches for Year 1 to 8 (primary and intermediate aged) students in local schools.

This is a permanent part-time role with a minimum of 10 hours a week, during education terms only based in Palmerston North. Don't worry, this just means you can have more time off with your family or you can pick up extra work across our sites in the region. Our operation is a 5-day week operation with late evening/early morning shifts, i.e. 12am - 8am with production being overnight/early morning for delivery the same day.

You will be responsible for:

In this position you will be responsible for the creation of lunches, including sandwich and salad making, lunch pack assembly and following our Food Control Plan and Allergen Management processes.

Health and Safety is our number 1 rule, you will be an advocate for safety in the work place.

Ideal skills and experience you will have:

• A minimum of a year's experience in a similar role with the basic food prep skills in a commercial kitchen setting
• Great organisational and time management skills
• A good understanding of Allergen and Food Control Plan management
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly outgoing personality
• Baking skills as advantageous
• Passion to produce great food for our next generation
