Pae Ora Paiaka Whaiora Hauora Māori Directorate and Te Uru Rauhi have an exciting opportunity for a Kaupapa Māori Service Manager for Te Papaioea Kaupapa Integrated Māori Mental Health and Addiction Services. The Service Manager is a member of the Senior Leadership Team Pae Ora Paiaka Whaiora Hauora Māori. This role forms and integral role for Pae Ora and is responsible for aligning Kaupapa Māori Mental Health and Addiction services across the rōhe.   Mental Health and Addictions Services at MDHB are moving towards a wellness and recovery-focused approach that encourages interconnectedness socially, spiritually, physically and environmentally and encompasses the aspirations to achieve ‘WAIORA' flourishing individuals, whānau, and communities.  

Kaupapa Māori Mental Health and Addiction Services Manager Te Papaioea.

The Kaupapa Service Manager has responsibility for Iwi and Maori providers relationship management community integration, working in partnership with key organisations and stakeholders to advance locality-based services across the continuum of care. Uniquely the Kaupapa Service Manager will work together with the Kaupapa Services Manager Horowhenua and the Operations Lead to ensure a consistent approach of delivering kaupapa Maori mental health and addiction services across the rohe. Underpinning this role is an emphasis on ensuring a whānau first clinically appropriate delivered using the core operational principles of tikanga and culture alongside the principles of cost effectiveness and efficiency. The role will nurture and cultivate a kaupapa Maori team environment that is resilient and responsive to unanticipated changes and where decision making is made closet to the whanau whaiora. The Kaupapa Services Manager will be an experienced Maori mental health and addiction practitioner who has demonstrated an understanding of our Maori community partners and networks along with proficient leadership knowledge and attributes to facilitate the development of whanau ora and Maori primary mental health and addiction capacity and reduction of demand on secondary care.

The Kaupapa Service Managers  KIMMHS is a member of the Pae Ora Team and Senior Strategic Leadership Team of the Te Uru Rauhi Directorate  Leadership team and shall partner with other Operations Leads of Te Uru Rauhi / Pae Ora Paiaka Whaiora Hauora Māori in the delivery of safe, efficient and comprehensive contemporary high quality, person and whānau centred clinical services.   We are looking to recruit an experienced Maori mental health and addiction practitioner who can demonstrate an understanding of our Maori community partners and networks along with proficient leadership knowledge and attributes to facilitate the development of whānau ora and Maori primary mental health and addiction capacity and reduction of demand on secondary care. This person will have experience of role modelling partnership in the spirit of Te Tiriti o Waitangi with strengths in influencing and relationship building.
