Join us as a Junior Web Application Developer

• In this key high profile role in the Nerve Centre within the office of the CEO, you’ll use your exceptional front-end development expertise to deliver solutions to internal customers
• This is a chance to put your ideas into practice and drive the development of high quality web based applications for use across the bank
• You'll mostly be working remotely, with occasional travel to one of our hub locations in Edinburgh, London or Poland to work with a cross-functional team and collaborate in short design and development sprints
• The salary range for this role is £39,000 to £68,000 plus 10% pension

What you'll do

As a Web Application Developer, you’ll be building and refining all user interfaces and working with other front-end and back-end developers and the Design Lead to create responsive, cross-browser or device interfaces. You'll be working within an Agile team to build solutions that can make a difference to the highest levels of the bank.

Partnering with the business and technical stakeholders, you’ll drive out high quality value-added web based solutions. You'll also challenge the next generation of digital, outcome-driven insight, as well as connecting the bank through innovative technology and design, helping our business to thrive.

You’ll also be:

• Assessing user requirements and stories to arrive at effort required
• Internally validating all code written for yourself and peers
• Managing environments and code through QA and release processes
• Supporting and mentoring team members to deliver code as per set standards and processes

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone with extensive JavaScript, CSS, C# and .Net Core skills and experience. React.js, Vue.js, Node.js or Blazor experience would be an advantage but not essential. You’ll be educated to degree level in computer science, software engineering, or similar or hold equivalent experience.

You’ll be a very capable communicator with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to your peers and management level colleagues, with good collaboration and stakeholder management skills.

You’ll also demonstrate:

• The ability to rapidly and effectively understand and translate product and business requirements into technical solutions
• The ability to understand and be able to support, modify and maintain systems and code developed by other engineering teams
• Experience of working in Agile projects
• A willingness to learn new techniques and teach others
