We are looking to recruit a Junior Civil Enigneer to join our EPR design Centre which is leading multiple companies to can come together and support nuclear power station projects in their design, build and commissioning. This includes Hinkley Point C (HPC), which is under construction, and the Sizewell C (SZC) project. 

This is a long-term position with opportunity to grow and develop your career both within Hinkley point C but also Sizewell C. As a Junior Civil Engineer, you will be supported by a group of detailed designers and work closely with the Client and the Clients Tier 1 Civils Contractor.

What you’ll be doing…
 
As part of the Civil team, your main responsibilities will be to:

•    Produce and check technical responses (to RFI, FCR, NCR raised by the contractor), especially for the ones related to the EPR basic design and systems.
•    Provide the necessary inputs for the detailing and calculation activity (performed by Edvance engineering sub-contractors).
•    Review the detailing work and calculations done by Edvance engineering sub-contractors
•    Manage interfaces with NNB, Edvance back office and Edvance front office different teams (other buildings and disciplines).
•    Support the design production follow-up and coordination.

Who you are…

Essential:

•    Experience on project dealing with material interfaces 
•    Experience in detailed design or conceptual design in an office or on a civil construction site
•    Great communication skills, comfortable managing several stakeholders and working in a muti-cultural environment
•    Be pro-active and solution orientated, having effective time management and planning skills
•    Have an understanding of site-based operations and construction
•    Experience of Construction Design Management (CDM) 2015

Desirable: 

•    Direct nuclear experience
•    Experience of seismic analysis and design 
•    Experience of working on major complex projects within a highly regulated industry 
•    Experience with on site design support
