Polished Diamonds Jewellery Design

“Polished Diamonds - Jewellery Design” is an award-winning manufacturing jewellery firm with multiple cities and country locations. We are looking for a Retail Sales and Design assistant to help our customers create the jewellery of their dreams based in our Christchurch luxury boutique. Amazing customer service, attention to detail and excellent communication with the ability to work in a luxury environment is required.

Business Information: 

We are a high-end Jewellery Design Business specialising in custom made quality jewellery items like Engagement & Wedding Rings.  We are National with multiple stores and growing quickly.

Key Tasks for Position: 

Assist in promoting, selling, branding, and administering Polished Diamonds Jewellery Design. 

Daily Task & Responsibilities

• Welcoming customers and providing excellent service. Engage with new clients and returning ones.
• Assist in providing new customer experience, record contact details in our database and assist with any design or jewellery related questions they may have. Promote the Polished Diamonds brand by helping clients and potential customers design jewellery, showcase our products and sell Polished Diamonds items.
• Maintain a staff presence in the showroom of Polished Diamonds and keep stock safe and secure, including locking and alarming the premises.

Administration

• Keep the showroom clean and tidy, including dusting, vacuuming floors, glass cabinets and window cleaning to the standard expected of a high-end boutique store. No dust or dirt is expected in the showroom.
• Dress in smart business attire consistent with a high-end retail boutique, smart business dress and acumen.
• Miscellaneous retail, graphics and administration tasks as required.

Key Relationships With:

• Polished Diamonds staff, mainly Daniel Joines (owner) and our design and workshop team to produce jewellery items.
• Suppliers to ensure the product is completed on time and at cost.
• New customers who purchase our products in-store, online, via telephone, social media, or other interactions like tradeshows and selling systems.
• Existing clients

Media and Social Media Marketing & Design (preferred, but not required)

• Develop branding and align digital assets
• Create images, photos, and content for marketing
• Prepare graphic design work for advertising, social media, website, signs, merchandising and selling systems consistent with the Polished Diamonds branding.
• Manage the marketing on digital platforms like Facebook, MailChimp, Instagram, Pinterest, Google, and other platforms.

Experience / Skills Required:

• Retail Sales
• Customer Service
• Excellent English - polite and punctual
• Excellent email and communications
• Jewellery Retail Experience (preferred)
• Project Management (preferred)
• Digital Marketing, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator (preferred)

Employment Details, Requirements, & Benefits:

• Must be trustworthy & confidential about customers, stock, trade secrets and intellectual property of Polished Diamonds
• Full-Time Tuesday to Saturday - a salary of $52,000 - $60,000 plus future profit share is available for the right candidate. Hours can vary to suit.
• A part-time role could be worked, eventually leading to full-time for graduating students with a commerce/marketing background
• Saturdays are mandatory from 9:30am to 3pm.
• Remuneration to suit experience. The role can progress to Store Manager and Profit Share with time and experience.
• Potential for a Management position and leadership.
• Sundays are always off (store closed)
• Closed all major holidays
• Potential for diamond knowledge certification training and jewellery education paid for by Polished Diamonds.
