What you'll do:

• Design, develop and test new Java micro-service applications using container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Build applications that are maintainable and scale predictably.

• Utilise pair-programming regularly and mentor juniors developers.

• Continuously improve yourself through in-house training sessions e.g. training workshops, proof of concept overviews, lightning talks.

• Maintain and contribute to software delivery principles and guidelines based on internal Sky standards and industry best-practice.

• Strive to continuously improve our systems and ways of working.

What you'll bring:

• Experience in Java Development Experience in working with APIs and understanding REST principles.

• A passion for agile methodologies and software engineering concepts e.g. XP, Scrum, Pair Programming, TDD, BDD.

• Familiarity with configuration and build tools such as Jenkins, Gradle, Maven.

• Understanding of standard monitoring and logging practices

• Knowledge of design patterns and SOLID principles.
