This is a Senior Management position with accountability for the end-end delivery of operational infrastructure, application and data platforms and services in support of current and future business needs.

You will lead service operations and IT Infrastructure delivery functions including IT capabilities such as end user infrastructure, platforms, disaster recovery, business continuity and service delivery.

You will support the development of a cloud strategy and develop and embed a DevOps culture.

What will I be doing?

• Lead the co-sourced service operations and delivery function (end user infrastructure and platforms) and service delivery across the wider IT function
• Take overall accountability for all aspects of the company's IT infrastructure across internal and external provision, ensuring a scalable and resilient platform that meets both current and future business demand.
• Embed a customer-orientated approach to IT service management and delivery, developing an ITIL best-practice service management framework covering with established SLA's and KPI's to monitor effectiveness and continuously improve processes and services
• Be accountable for the quality of Service and performance; ensuring future demand from growth and projects is understood and factored into capacity plans for all associated systems.
• Develop and embed a DevOps culture, unifying cultural philosophies, practices, and tools across Development and Operations to break down silos, instilling a "One Team" ethos and increase the pace of application and service delivery

What do I need?

• A proven management background leading a service operations and infrastructure team and delivering best in class IT services.
• A technical background with a proven a track record in infrastructure and operations
• Working in the financial services industry or other regulated environment
• A Degree in computing or related disciple or other relevant qualification
• ITIL qualified
• Management of multiple key suppliers including reviews and performance improvement
• Extensive experience of managing a broad range of infrastructure architecture technologies and principles including LAN, WAN, SAN storage, server design and implementation, capacity planning
• Able to translate business plan into team objectives.
• Have a structured and creative approach to problem solving and generating ideas, bringing new perspective to solving problems and decision making.
• Knowledge of the ISO27001 standard for information security.
• A proven track record of continuous improvement, including detailed knowledge of how to improve the quality and pace of IT service delivery.
• A solid understanding of the metrics used to measure and monitor application and systems
• People management (up to circa 4 direct reports), including demonstrable experience of driving performance
• Confident and assertive, generating enthusiasm and commitment from the team
• Mentoring and coaching of team members, instilling drive and commitment to go above and beyond demonstrated by a strong work ethic
• Operating both independently and as a team player, adopting a collaborative approach to achieving business objectives and outcomes
