We are looking for an IT Apprentice. As our IT Apprentice your principle role is to support the IT Service Desk. Whilst you complete our structured apprenticeship programme you will have the opportunity to gain real on-the-job training which will lead you to gain some valuable work experience and potentially an opportunity to secure a full-time job with us.
You will be assigned a mentor during your apprenticeship to assist you throughout your time with us.
You will provide support and assistance to the business by providing excellent customer service to both internal and external clients whilst building your knowledge within the IT sector and obtaining a professional qualification from the completion of your course.
You will have the opportunity to work across a wide variety of teams from IT Service Desk, Infrastructure Support, IT Business Systems Support and IT Project Management.
Whilst working at the IT Service Desk you will be working to deliver first class ‘first line’ customer service/technical support to our colleagues by understand the service desk function and how it works within the IT department as well as the wider organisation. You will be coached and supported by the Service Desk team to aid you in your development journey.
In the Infrastructure Support team you will learn to deliver ‘second line’ customer service/technical support to our colleagues by working to understand the infrastructure function and work to learn basic understanding of Networking (LAN/WAN/VPN/Switches) You will have a basic understanding of the Azure environment and this is utilised to support our users.
In the IT Business Systems Support team you will learn to deliver ‘second line’ customer service/application support to our colleagues by working to understand our core applications and work to understand basic understanding of Northgate Housing Management system.
Finally, in the IT Project Management team you will learn to understand the importance of effective Project Management and the various methodologies, you will be given the opportunity to shadow various members of our IT Project Management Team. This will give you the opportunity to gain PRINCE2 Foundation certification.
You will be passionate, enthusiastic and a motivated individual who can demonstrate a track of academic success. Preferably you will have had some work experience within the IT sector, if not, then we would like for you to be able to demonstrate a clear passion for and, interest in the sector.
You will be able to work collaboratively and as part of a team to achieve successful outcomes.
