International Liaison Services

Permanent Appointment

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of International Liaison Services, the International Recruitment and Enrollment Clerk will be a home-base recruiter, as well as a support to the Office of Admissions and the Office of Student Transitions and Engagement. The primary purpose for this position is to have a thoroughly trained recruiter (programs, academic counselling, services, processes, etc.) who works with students posing questions via email, phone, social media, and in person (on-campus). The Enrollment Clerk will work with all prospective applicants and prospective students whose first point of contact with Laurentian is one of the above mediums. The successful candidate will:

. Respond to international application related inquiries

Accurately and efficiently communicate information related to Laurentian University program offerings, admissions processes, country requirements and related services

Maintain ongoing records of interaction between inquirers and Laurentian University

Maintain and update information related to an inquirer

provide feedback to the Manager of International of Liaison and International Recruitment coordinators based on the cases and make recommendations for recruitment strategy

. By phone, email or online meeting, counsel prospective international applicants, as well as prospective international students

Arrange and conduct online meetings with prospective applicants and prospective students

Counsel prospective applicants and prospective students on appropriate courses of action for unique process-related requests

Counsel prospective applicants and prospective students on appropriate timelines and processes for related prospective services, appropriate to their individual needs

. Maintain prospective international student and prospective international applicant resources (electronic and otherwise)

Maintain and update third-party databases of Laurentian-based information

Maintain and update follow-up content related to third-party inquiries

Provide feedback on materials used

. Conduct online or in person presentations for prospective applicants and prospective students

At Faculty request and Manager approval, conduct Laurentian-related presentations for special events

Present process and program-related content to visitors at scheduled events

Limited travel to local or provincial school /college or university for in person recruitment events at the Manager’s request and approval.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree, preferably from Laurentian University;

One to three years of related experience;

Database management;

Excellent time-management;

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

Research skill to understand the educational system from different countries

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe, preferred;

Experience with Colleague Student Information System and SugarCRM;

Public speaking and presentation training, as well as presentation experience;

Familiarity with Laurentian University, preferred;

Fluent in English and French (written and oral).

Hours of work are based on the normal operating hours of the University and are Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Summer hours) and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Winter hours), amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
