About the Team

The internal communications team at TalkTalk is pivotal in ensuring colleagues are kept up to date with everything that is going on in TalkTalk. They are crucial in sharing our strategy, driving employee engagement and constantly looking for new and innovative ways to communicate and drive our culture forward. 

This role will report to the People Operations & Communications Director and work closely with the rest of the internal communications team.  The role will work closely with the People Director for Direct and key stakeholders in that business unit. 

About the Role

This is a pivotal role within TalkTalk’s internal communications team that will focus on ensuring that the communications strategy in the Direct Consumer & B2B division is optimal for driving increased levels of employee engagement. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a cohesive communications strategy that tells the story of the Direct business whilst celebrating success and sharing milestones. 

Working closely with the MD of the business and their leadership team you will need to support with day to day messaging and storytelling ensuring that our employees understand the part they play in our future strategy and company vision. As part of your role, you will also ensure that the rest of the organisation is updated on the business performance in Direct and the impacts on customer experience. You will bring our customers to life with the strategic aim of driving increased employee advocacy of our products and services across the organisation.

The role will be split between your business unit and company wide communications:

Business Unit Comms and Engagement 

• Provide a comms business partner style service to the Direct leadership teams. Consult with ExCo and their leadership teams on their communication strategies to increase their visibility across the business, in order to drive colleague engagement and increased understanding of the strategy

• Being a subject matter expert on when and how they communicate and advise on the tools available.  

• Working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful ‘all company’ communication

• Stakeholder management is crucial to deliver engaging Business Unit updates including monthly events, local updates and ListenListens.  

• Copywriting including creating/proofing updates from senior management. 

• Coordinate and deliver company-wide comms (announcements / blogs, intranet content, various newsletters, webcasts). 

Companywide Comms and Engagement 

• Planning and delivery of group wide events 

• Co-ordinating local and company-wide events (both in-person and virtual) to enthuse and engage colleagues, including project planning, budget management and delegate experience.  

• Provide online community management across our digital channels. 

• Undertake other group communications projects as and when required.
