As the Internal Communications Manager – Channels and Content you will create compelling communications content for colleagues focused on our five strategic priorities. You will bring a creative and commercial approach to all communications, ensuring we reach colleagues with the right message, through dynamic and engaging channels and focused on the principle of fewer, bigger, better. You will be responsible for day-to-day management of the content plan for our ‘always on’ channels, ensuring this is executed consistently and on time, and support the Senior Communications Manager – Channels and Content to develop the strategy for these channels. You will have a solid understanding of the internal communications channels appropriate to the message and support the Senior Communications Manager – Channels and Content in managing our mix of channels, including developing new and more engaging channels to reach all of our colleagues.

 

To be successful in this role you’ll need to have excellent experience of managing and developing internal communication channels.

 

More about the role:

 

  • You will be responsible for owning the day-to-day content plan for our ‘always on’ channels (including team huddles, posters, digital noticeboards and intranet news/homepage) and ensuring this is executed consistently and on time. You’ll work closely with the Strategy & Leadership and People & Community teams to ensure the content plan reflects our campaign priorities in the most effective way to maximise reach and work with the Internal Communications Executive – Channels and Content to ensure this plan is delivered.
  • You will track measurement and evaluation metrics across our channels and will be responsible for contributing to the communications reporting framework. You will use this insight to support the wider campaigns team to consider the best use of our channels in campaign planning, and to identify opportunities where we make things better and extend reach.
  • You will support the Senior Communications Manager – Channels & Content to diversify our mix of channels and ensure each has a clear purpose, exploring new and dynamic channels to extend our reach to colleagues, working closely with the Digital Transformation team where required. 
  • You will work as part of communications working groups for big campaigns and activities, supporting the wider campaigns team to utilise our channels in communication campaigns.
  • You will become the go-to expert on the implementation of our brand across our internal communications. You’ll work with stakeholders in marketing to ensure we’re implementing any changes when required and ensure colleagues across the business have access to the right templates and tools to support creating local communications.

 

More about you:

 

  • Collaborative approach, working as one team with the wider Corporate Affairs team and able to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Highly organised and proactive – able to project manage, juggle and prioritise a busy agenda
  • Ability to handle large amounts of information and distill this into compelling and easy to understand messages
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Good knowledge and understanding of a consumer-facing or FMCG businesses
  • Creative approach and excellent attention to detail. Experience of working with Adobe Creative Cloud and Yammer is a plus, but not essential.
  • Support the operational comms team by providing weekend and evening cover from time to time. This includes compiling and sending daily communications and sending urgent messages as appropriate.
