Join us as an Innovation Scout
- We’ll look to you to engage internally and externally to effectively identify and qualify innovative scalable solutions for the bank
- You’ll be contributing to the bank’s innovation initiatives in line with Innovation Forum priorities, leading key initiatives, engaging with senior stakeholders and working collaboratively with other teams
- This is an opportunity to lead on multiple high profile projects and gain exposure to new clients and technology
What you'll do
As an Innovation Scout, you'll be leading engagement with influencers, market leading companies and start-ups to identify and qualify innovative solutions, emerging capabilities and strategic thinking to transform the customer experience and bank processes.
You'll also be:
- Contributing to our innovation agenda by identifying, qualifying and progressing new ideas championing the bank internally and externally as an innovative customer-focused brand
- Providing leadership of strategic innovation initiatives and supporting transitioning initiatives to business franchises or delivery for implementation
- Working with senior decision making stakeholders to understand and influence strategies and challenges which can be informed or addressed by external innovation and strategic thinking
- Collaborating with partners and tech giants to tap into their capabilities and find innovative solutions that differentiate the way we serve customers
- Coaching and mentoring less experienced team members, supporting the development of their skills as innovation scouts
The skills you'll need
We're looking for someone with a solid understanding and experience of innovative technologies relevant to banking and innovation operating models, and knowledge of business management practices, processes, tools and techniques.
You'll also need:
- Knowledge of innovative and emerging technology solutions and their application within financial services; ideally with subject matter expertise in one or more areas of emerging tech
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to analyse and interpret information
- Strong relationship and networking skills at senior levels across the organisation and externally; an established network of contacts into the UK and/or Europe start-up and tech ecosystem
- The ability to think and work creatively, and find commercial value based solutions
- Experience in the evaluation and negotiation of commercial partnerships and development of associated business cases
- Strong communications and influencing skills, including the ability to structure and present high-quality documents for senior audiences
- A sound academic background, preferably including strategy, strategic and financial planning, operating model design and change management at a practical level
