About this role

In this role you will be first link in the content production chain; without you content does not get to be viewed by the public at home. You will also be responsible to ensure content is fit for purpose and managed in a timely fashion to ensure tight deadlines are met.

You will need to also uphold high standards of QC and metadata to facilitate the smooth transition of content assets from production through to playout.

You'll have the following responsibilities

Ingest

• Ensure ingest of live video streams guaranteeing all content is captured 

• Check all ingests to confirm the content has been correctly captured in a timely fashion 

• Liaising with Media Managers and Engineering team to escalate issues around systems, procedures and schedules

• Ensure the accuracy of metadata and its application to all media assets

File delivery

• Full understanding of day to day file delivery schedule

• Quality control of all files to be delivered for transmission

• Liaising with Media Managers and Production to ensure all deliverables are compliant to the BT Sport delivery protocol

• Monitoring creation of TX and associated metadata files to ensure timely and accurate delivery 

• Understand all delivery routes to Transmission partners

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Excellent communication skills 

• Attention to detail is essential

• Thorough understanding of metadata; it’s importance and the role it plays in automated and manual file based workflows

• Positive and enthusiastic with the ability to react under pressure to requests

• Ability to work under pressure 

• Proven ability to prioritise and manage workload is fundamental to this role

• Excellent knowledge of video and audio file formats and media, ingest, transcoding software, media management tools and computer systems 

• Ability to work well within a team as well as being able to work alone

Experience you are expected to have-  

• Experience of working in a live broadcast environment is preferred

• Operational knowledge of EVS IP Director preferred

• Knowledge or interest in sports would be preferred.

• Understand file types and codecs, particularly processing times and therefore potential delivery impact

• Experience of working to tight deadlines and under pressure is essential
