About this role

The Data, Analytics & Insights Office is helping to transform Openreach into a data-driven enterprise, where proactive insight is at the heart of our decision making - fuelled by the democratisation of data, improved data literacy of our people, constant access to the data we need and the ability and inquisitiveness to question, hypothesis, test and learn from data. Put simply, we want to empower every person in Openreach to always make the very best possible decision.

The Information Technology Analyst role will be engaged with driving and defining Service Delivery’s scope for a cloud transformation programme. The role will be responsible for democratisation of data and ensuring Service Delivery harness the power of moving to the Cloud. You must be able to communicate technical information, translate business requirements into technical plans and translate technical terms into business requirements and actions. 

If you have a successful track record in agile methodology working with toolsets used within a typical Cloud project such as Jira and Confluence then this role is a perfect match for you.

You'll have the following responsibilities

• Communicating technical information, translating business requirements into technical plans, and translating technical terms into business requirements and actions.

• Assessing the business and aligning the technical requirements to business projects and project goals.

• Creating and maintaining strong relationships with CTIO, to ensure we remain in lock step with our respective transformation journeys.

• Assist in the creation of one true source for data, working closely with both CTIO and Data Management to ensure data is within design standards of the Design Authority.

• Ensuring any new data assets are pushed to GCP, in accordance with Integration Layer and Common Data Model principles.

• Powering & supporting the Data Management, Business Intelligence, Applied Analytics & Process Re-engineering teams in being able to deliver their objectives by enabling seamless access to data and Cloud capabilities in conjunction with CTIO

• Shaping requirements so that the team can develop, transition, and maintain data assets to be fully cloud-native, moving them to fully harness the future-state of our business in terms of data, technology, and operations 

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business and technology.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at all levels.

• Experience working as a technical analyst working with data technology/engineering teams/business teams.

• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting data presentation skills.

• Experience of data engineering on cloud platforms, with a bias on GCP.

• Knowledge of common data engineering tools, any experience of StreamSets, Fusion, DataProc would be of particular benefit.
