Infrastructure Security Ops Lead
Primark Technology is about to embark on a transformation journey to support business strategy which includes modernising our operating model as well as technology architecture.
A critical enabler for the technology transformation, and for delivering wider business transformation priorities, is security operations across our infrastructure environments. In parallel to supporting new business initiatives, we recognise the need to invest and innovate in partnership with our Cyber Security colleagues to ensure we are reducing and removing our operational risk profile, improve security posture and scale the foundational technology capabilities which support today’s business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the management of security risk across the infrastructure environment including server OS, hypervisors, cloud environments and enterprise applications
- Partner with Cyber Security teams to identify strategic direction to secure all infrastructure and cloud platforms
- Responsible for service delivery, including management and oversight of key security initiatives and vulnerability management activities, development and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to measure performance data, SLA attainment and promised and expected service delivery
- Responsible for strategic projects and programmes within infrastructure environments focusing on reducing security risk and ensuring strict compliance to security SLA’s and KPI’s
- Provides strategic and technical direction to service and project teams
- Ensures all infrastructure solutions are aligned to overall security strategy
- Evangelise security best practice, be a passionate technologist, and represent Infrastructure Security Operations within our future Enterprise Architecture framework.
- Foster self-management and accountability at the team level through servant leadership
- Collaborate closely with senior management to create strategic objectives and organisational evolutions to better align business, product and technical opportunities
Knowledge & Experience Required:
- Strong operational experience in the deployment and management of security toolsets, preferably within a retail environment
- Strong technical knowledge of data centre technologies including compute and storage environments, VMware hypervisors, Microsoft technologies, Unix/Linux environment, Citrix etc and management of security operations around these
- Knowledge of cloud hosting and infrastructure, especially Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google Cloud
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, including the ability to explain complex issues to senior stakeholders succinctly
- Solid service improvement experience including the design and management of KPI / SLAs
- Able to direct workload activities and mentor staff within the team
- Extensive project planning and management experience.
- An appropriate degree, equivalent qualification or experience
