About the Position:

This is an excellent career opportunity for the right person to step into a strategic leadership Human Resources Manager role with full responsibility to run the department, for one of Ontario’s leaders in the printing industry.

You will be primarily responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating human resources operations at the company.

The Human Resources Manager will be accountable for facilitating the daily functions of human resources including HR process development, recruitment and onboarding, fostering positive employee relations, supporting the performance management program, benefits administration, as well as maintaining policies, HR data and employee files.

  • This full-time position requires you to be in the office 5 days a week, however upon completion of your training and as you begin to develop more familiarity with the company and its processes, hybrid opportunities will be available which will allow you to work from home 1-2 days a week.

 

Requirements:

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in human resources management or equivalent work experience.
  • Complete knowledge of Bill 168, Bill 148, Workplace Respect, AODA, Health and Safety, and WHMIS legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Advanced knowledge in all aspects of human resources, with expert knowledge of employee relations and recruitment strategies
  • CHRP or CHRL, or in the process of receiving your designation is an asset
  • Previous experience in the manufacturing sector or in a plant environment is an asset

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing the policy and procedure development and implementation.
  • Collaborate with Department Managers and provide recommendations for employee relations issues and progressive discipline management.
  • Responsible in conjunction with Department Managers for initiating progressive discipline procedures when required.
  • Makes recommendations in regard to the hiring and termination of employees.
  • Makes recommendations to the COO for all final employee compensation changes.
  • Maintain and created employee policies and ensure compliance with federal and provincial legislation.
  • Manage review process; including 45-day reviews, PRP scoring, and annual performance reviews.
  • Responsible for full cycle recruitment for all full-time positions, creation of job descriptions, and salary grading.
  • Responsible for all employee benefits and employee file administration; including annual renewal negotiations, salary updates, status changes, and terminations.
  • Some interaction with vendors and customers
