Join our National Group HSE team and work to drive the continual improvement of our Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) culture and performance at our Coles Transport site in Metro Perth. 

This is a Perth based, hands-on HSE role with a focus on transport and logistics. You will be working with a highly customer focused team of up to 50 drivers/operatives with the customer also onsite. This role requires the expertise of a self-aware, strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, who can continually drive safety in a positive direction through coaching and guidance and  the implementation of our H&S Management plans.

Key accountability and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Take the lead in coaching and mentoring your stakeholder group on HSE strategies and activities.
  • Implement the H&S management plan and be accountable for driving HSE improvements thorough audits, risk assessments, inspection, and management reviews.
  • Deliver targeted training programs to develop HSE capability of the operational teams in a way that engages and influences the wider workforce.
  • Conduct incident investigations to determine the cause of incidents and advise on corrective actions.
  • Provide insight to the onsite customers and identify trends and risk through engagement with Operations team with a view to providing solution.
  • Implement HSE training and communication programs.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have Knowledge/Experience:

  • Cert IV or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • 5+ years practical experience in a HSE role with a focus on transport and logistics in WA.
  • Heavy vehicle compliance in WA and detailed knowledge of HSE legislation, industry standards and management system standards. 
  • Excellent written and communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with fellow team members, management, stakeholders and customers.
  • Competent computing skills, advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
