We have a vacancy for an experienced HR & Training Manager to join our Healthcare & Education sector
You’ll work in partnership with the relevant Operational stakeholders by providing consistent “in person†support to management teams on people issues in pursuit of smooth employee relations, HR process and the sector’s strategic goals.
The role is homebased in the South and will require regular UK travel
Other Responsibilities will include:
- Deliver the sector specific HR training initiatives in furtherance of the strategic overall workforce plan.
- Support the central Employee Relations team to deliver appropriate field-based support to the management teams on issues such as reorganisation and complex disciplinary, grievance or capability processes.
- Act as a sector-specific point of escalation for MyER on Employee relations matters which require sector specific knowledge.
- Provide TUPE, Redundancy (site closures) and Restructuring field support including Project management and ownership until concluded by liaising with all relevant Operational stakeholders, work colleagues and wider support functions
- Support the HR Business Partner in the delivery of strategic HR initiatives and projects.
- Support, design and deliver HR training in support of the HRBP, L&D and in line with the sector’s skills matrix
- Partner the Operational Management team and HR Business Partner to deliver appropriate strategic workforce planning.
- Keep informed of contract performance and labour issues and offer the management teams proactive advice in relation to labour issues in pursuance of cost limitation, process improvement or smooth employee relations.
- Represent the HR function at management meetings and ensure feedback is reported and appropriate actions are followed up.
- Work with the HRBP on continuous improvement of HR compliance, HR process and the employee value proposition for all contracts.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Degree level or equivalent relevant experience
- CIPD level 5 or equivalent experience
- CIPD Membership
- Qualified trainer of Mental Health First Aid or desire to become a Mental Health First Aid instructor
- Experience of employee relations advisory support in a fast-paced working environment (essential)
- Proven track record of supporting a multi-site operation in outsourced services (desirable)
- Previous experience of a field-based regional role
- Experience of HR training delivery would be desirable
- Previous industrial relations experience
- Experience of delivering HR solutions within a public sector environment with demonstrable experience of AfC Terms
- TUPE knowledge and application
- Demonstrable experience of supporting redundancy, restructure and change activity would be desirable
- Competent level of IT skills (Excel/Powerpoint/Word)
- Proven expertise and understanding of employment law and knowledge across HR full spectrum of employee relations.
- Experience in the provision of strategic, proactive support within a multi-site and union environment
- Proven experience of delivering against KPIs in relation to retention, people culture, staff engagement and change management
