The HR Services center of excellence’s aspiration is to enable HR services at scale, simplify processes and transactions, improve data quality and consistency, and help deliver a great employee experience across Microsoft. The immigration manager is an integral member of the HR organization and plays a key role in the delivery of high-quality HR Services to business leaders, managers, and employees, as well as to the HR Community. This role will be responsible for delivering high-quality execution of core immigration operation in America´s region.
This role requires through understanding and appreciation of the Immigration policies and process and ensure consistency in the way the process is delivered in the region. This role should also ensure that there is clear alignment within HR Services, CELA, COE’s and local HR’s to avoid any deviation in the way the service is delivered. Compliance with the immigration matters will be an important success measure for this role, and use of metrics and voice of the customer framework to identify trends and improvement opportunity areas. The immigration manager will leverage the process design experience and expertise to standardize and scale integrated workflows on the hire/transfer process in support of key initiatives across the employee lifecycle in order to more robustly support a delightful experience for employees while accounting for critical programmatic nuances at both a globally standardized and regionally nuanced level.

Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for E2E immigration & mobility (domestic and international relocation) operations in America´s region.
Partnering with the functional operation, the regional immigration & mobility Manager is responsible for implementation of the mobility processes in the region.
Understand immigration & mobility policy and processes and ensure that 100% policy and process are adhered.
Interpret immigration & mobility policies and make decisions working with COE teams on the scenarios which is raised as an exception to policy.
Responsible for ensuring that all countries in the region are compliant with the Immigration laws and practices by partnering with the immigration vendors and CELA.
Responsible for partnering with the immigration & mobility vendors and ensuring all immigration related audits are conducted at the appropriate time as defined by the local immigration law.
To manage and engage immigration & mobility service partners who support the transfer processes for Microsoft in the region.
Prepare dashboard and scorecard to effectively measure service partner performance.
Ensures process and operating procedure documentation is always effective and in place and operate business continuity and disaster recovery plans are established and maintained.
In partnership with the mobility functional operations team continuously identify areas of process improvement and future investment to drive efficiency and improved employee experience (e.g., more relevant self-service content, streamlined processes, etc.); partner with RSC’s and global service center teams to implement changes and enhancements as appropriate.
Act as a point of issue escalation for problems within HR Services in immigration & mobility, and work with functional operation and relevant process players to arrive at a resolution.
Ensure HR Data integrity and compliance through accurate management of immigration records for all foreign nations and vendor management.
Ensure knowledge management of HR processes through proper documentation of the country specific immigration processes and policies in the region.
Responsible for driving standardization and continuous improvement in area of responsibility.
Accountable for Data Privacy and security.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
A minimum of 6+ years, in Immigration & Global Mobility handling both domestic and international relocations.
Shared services experience will be an added advantage.
Experience managing & driving global projects from beginning to end
Experience building relationships cross-functionally and driving a team to a business-oriented solution.
Good knowledge around basic immigration laws in the region that the candidate will support.
Good communication skills – both written and verbal (region specific local language knowledge is an added advantage).
Demonstrated vendor management experience with ability to measure and report vendor performance.
Must have strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
Possess initiative & drive; with strong desire to continuously improve processes & deliver against agreed objectives/ service levels.
Ability to make decisions that impact customer service levels with a sense of urgency
Ability to work effectively in a team and willingness to help others.
Experience in implementing immigration and mobility processes across different countries.
Candidate must be able to work under pressure and within short time constraints.
SAP HR system understanding.
