About The Role

To work as part of our HR Advisory team, based within our Central Support Office in Darlington or working from home to support our HR Advisors to provide high quality remote ER / HR service to managers in a focused way and within SLA.

You will build and maintain effective working relationships with our Home Managers to ensure that the HR Advisory service delivers positive outcomes. With particular ER responsibilities for assigned groups.

You will also provide a high quality, accurate, prompt and efficient advice and support service on a number of HR Compliance requirements.

You will be dealing with a high volume of ER cases in a fast paced environment and should use your skills and knowledge to coach and upskill our Home Managers to make sound and balanced decisions in relation to their teams, which support the HC-One vision to be the first choice care home for those in the communities we serve, their Relatives and our Colleagues.

 

Your Role will involve:

Providing support and guidance to our Home Managers on ER cases, advising them on how to proceed in areas such as probation, AWOL, Resignation, absence and conduct cases

Building effective and positive relationships with Home Managers, HR Advisors and Regional HR Colleagues and working in collaboration to achieve the best for our homes and those in the communities we serve

Gathering and completing documentation in order to process referrals to regulatory bodies for example NMC, DBS

Liaising with external bodies such as DBS, SSSC and the Home Office to ensure compliance 

Ensure the Company fully complies in terms of Right to Work, highlighting any concerns to AD’s / MD’s the HR Advisory Team Manager and Regional HRM’s, thus mitigating risk to the business.

Support and assist in Human Resources initiatives and projects 

Provide administrative support to the HR Advisors

Continuous professional development, keeping abreast of forthcoming employment law, emerging case law, legislation changes, changes to regulatory body guidance and best practice, as well as sharing/using experiences to learn and improve

Creating and maintaining accurate records of all calls received and advice given.

About You

Essential

Significant experience in a similar HR role

Good knowledge of employee relation legislation 

Significant experience in providing employee relations advice to managers

Shows high levels of attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality

Organised and can manage own workload with strong administrative skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Demonstrates strong relationship building skills. Interacts with others in a sensitive, respectful and effective way.

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well and adapt your style to suit different audiences

IT literate to include the use of Microsoft Office

 

Desirable

CIPD qualified 

HR / ER experience within the Social Care sector

Experience of working in partnership with a field based HR team

Knowledge of compliance legislation and its practical application, preferably within the Social Care sector.
