6 or 12 Month Fixed Term, Full Time starting 11th April 2022

 

Applications are invited for the position of House Officer PGY2 or above, Fixed Term 6 or 12 months, available to start 11th April 2022.

 

The Role

South Canterbury DHB is looking for motivated House Officer 2nd year or above who is keen to step up and take on the extra responsibility and opportunities provided at our DHB.  You will gain exposure to a number of different runs, each run is 3 months in duration. We are looking for a team player who is self-motivated and takes initiative.  SCDHB is a small busy hospital with 25 Interns.

    The Location

    We are situated on the sunny coast of South Canterbury which is a stone s throw away from the sea, mountains, lakes, rivers and bush land.  We are the gateway to ski fields, hiking treks and an abundance of sports and adventure tourism.

     

    Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years post qualification experience working in a House Officer role.

  • A current CV and cover letter.

  • Contact details for 3 Consultants we may contact directly for references. These Consultants will have supervised your day-to-day clinical work and one of the referees provided must be from your current or most recent employer. Please ensure you advise your referees of their nomination so they are aware they will be contacted. 

  • Be available to start 11th April 2022

  • You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand, and be eligible for general or provisional registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility by visiting the Council's website at www.mcnz.org.nz

  • Please be aware, if you are an overseas candidate that The Medical Council of New Zealand (the Council) have a single method of primary source verification using the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates Electronic Portfolio of International Credentials (ECFMG s EPIC) service. Being certified through EPIC is compulsory and we therefore recommend that applicants have registered their professional credentials with EPIC.
