About us:

The Ponsonby Cruising Club was founded in October 1900 and takes pride in its long history in yachting and its part in the development of a breed of New Zealand yachtsmen and yachtswomen who have proven themselves at least as capable as any others in the world. Our club members and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar in the Logan Room which offers bar food or a full meal in the Galley restaurant.

About the role:

An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly professional Hospitality Manager to join the team.  You will be the face of PCC and will provide a friendly welcome and great customer service for our members and guests.  To be considered for this role you must have a minimum of 3yrs F&B experience, including events.   This hands on role is approx. 30 hours per week and involves weekend and evening work.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Must have experience in managing small-med conferences/events/functions
• Must have a valid and current manager’s certificate
• Have experience in managing labour and food cost and ensuring profitability 
• Have experience in hiring and training staff and managing rosters
• Be responsible for setting and maintaining standards for food safety 
• Be a natural relationship builder, someone with a “can do” attitude 

Key Requirements/Experience:

• Have 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position 
• A natural leader who can motivate a team and create a great culture
• Able to go above and beyond for our members and guests as well as our people
