ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

Our client works with Rangatahi (young people), their Whānau (family) and those supporting Rangatahi. This fantastic organisation is made up of KaitÅ«ao (volunteer) and paid staff members within centres based across the New Zealand.  

  

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for amazing people who have a wealth experience as a Counsellor, Social Worker or other registered health professional with in-depth first hand experience in the Mental Health sector.

To ensure you are the perfect fit, you will be:  

  • A Counsellor/Social Worker with a current full registration
  • Must be either registered social workers, DAPAANZ registered, HPCA    registered or registered with NZAC
  • An experienced working with people in acute mental health settings
    Calm, Grounded, Non-Judgmental, Adaptable Person 
  • Confident managing multiple conversations and assessments at a time 
  • Capable of identifying and prioritizing risk to then to make fast and effective clinical decisions 
  • Great team player and effective communicator

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking Rock Stars who have robust experience in managing risk assessments, safety planning, interventions, these experiences are all highly desirable to this role and will certainly make you stand out from the crowd. 

Your duties will include:

  • Take calls from those seeking mental health advice
  • Assess and triage callers, make decisions based on various factors
  • Holding the escalation point for clinical decision making
  • Availability on weekends and evenings 
  • Prioritise cases and be able to hold strong professional boundaries
  • Foster links with other mental health services
