About the Role

Reporting to Ashley Saxton, Director of Restaurants and Kitchens, the Head of Restaurants is a strategic, commercial and leadership role which will play a key role setting and implementing a vision for the future of Harrods’ exciting hospitality offering in both own bought and concession models to ensure that Harrods remains as a destination of choice for food.

A key part of this role will be shaping the future of the restaurant strategy to drive robust commercial deals and opportunities for new brands and concepts into our spaces.

Working in a face paced environment with multiple openings and developments to lead, the position will run an operation of 26 restaurants and bars where there are more Michelin and celebrity chefs than anywhere else in the UK. The role will lead a multi-functional team of over 850 employees, and we are looking for a candidate who can combine strong leadership with tight day to day operational management. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on a new, elevated food offering which is already at considerable scale and profitability.

About You

You will have the self-confidence to lead the daily operation of all our restaurants, and the character to act as custodian of service excellence for our customers. You will bring a blend of creative ability, commercial and operational leadership learned in a business of similar scale and complexity. You will be a team player, working with a variety of stakeholders across the wider commercial organization.

In addition to this, you will be a strong operational leader, possessing a deep understanding and appreciation of the commercial principles at the heart of a restaurant business, and a track record of successfully managing efficient and cost effective operations of scale and quality.

You will lead and develop a strong multi-disciplinary team, able to operate at the highest level of quality and service. You will flourish in a demanding, fast-moving environment where attention to detail is paramount and therefore must demonstrate personal credibility and inspire confidence.
