Classification: Academic Level C

Salary package: $124,685 - $138,583 per annum plus 17% Superannuation

Term: Full-time, Fixed Term (up to 5 years)

The Area

The MakerSpace is a network of accessible spaces across the ANU campus which fosters a broad community in design and fabrication. This program is sponsored by the DVC(A) as a joint initiative with the Colleges of Science, Engineering and Computer Science, and Arts and Social Sciences.

The Position

The Head of MakerSpace is a joint appointment with the DVC(A) and the Research School of Physics (RSPhys), ANU College of Science. The Head reports to the DVC(A), Director RSPhys and a management committee constituted of representative ANU stakeholders.

The Person

To excel in this role you will have:

• PhD with a strong track record of research in the field of physics
• A record of articulating and prosecuting innovative education in the field of physics, and compelling vision to lead the novel experimental practices and program goals.
• Demonstrated ability to develop safe, open-access fabrication facilities.
• Demonstrated experience in management and financial management of open-access fabrication facilities.
