If this excites you, then come join the SKU design team in India. The Product Data Management Engineering SKU Design team is responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of Server and Rack Hardware offerings to support Azure technologies in Mission Critical Data Centers.

Responsibilities

As a critical part of the PDM Engineering SKU Design team within Microsoft’s CSCP Organization, this role will work with internal stakeholders to create Node, Rack, and Row level hardware design documentation. You will ensure that the design documentation conforms to Data Center Infrastructure standards along with constraints around power, airflow and other critical information.

· Work with many enterprise class server, storage and networking technologies to create designs used to deploy hardware into Data Center

· Generate technical specs for power, design and all other SKU characteristics in the document using data provided by various teams in Microsoft

· Specify, collate, create, update and maintain the design and supply chain characteristics in a SKU document for Microsoft product using PDM system

· Build rack / server level Bill of materials using discrete manufacturer and Microsoft part numbers and attach associated documents

· Upload the parts into a central library hosted by Microsoft PLM/PDM (product lifecycle management/product design management) system, or another method followed in the Microsoft system

· Review correctness of the parts against specifications given in data-sheets and manufacturers recommendations and Microsoft specific DFM guidelines.

· Validate the configuration and work with the PDM engineering team to resolve any issues through the workflow tool

· Interface with several internal stakeholder teams, gather requirements and provide feedback on SKU design feasibility and constraints as needed

· Manage multiple projects and work across a global multi-cultural team to drive influence, schedules and timelines to meet project goals

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience

With 9+ years of total experience and at least 5+ years experience in servers / storage / networking products, data center hardware engineering 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Understanding of Data center rack/row build out, air flow and other infrastructure constraints

· A+, Server+, or other OEM Hardware Certification (Dell, Cisco, HPE)

· CDCP Certified Data Center Professional

· CCNA Cisco Certified Network Associate

· Excellent communication and project management skills

· Passion to turn vision into detailed plans and execute against complex plans

· Program Management experience specifically in the Computer Hardware DC deployments

· Experience creating technical documentation used to configure enterprise hardware devices

· Understanding of network administration or logical network topology planning

· Experience with a PLM/PDM system would be an advantage
