The role:

We’re looking for a Growth Marketing Manager to drive awareness and the success of Surfboard to our existing and future customers.

🌱 Grow the Surfboard brand and community. You will partner with our CEO and Ops Manager to build and engage with potential partners and build relationships with existing ones. You’ll drive strategy, development, growth and engagement.

🧪 Run experiments to test hypotheses and bring analytical rigour to campaigns for informing the go-to-market strategy. Deliver campaigns with a strong bias for growth & business impact.

💬 Manage the content calendar, develop our Surfboard tone of voice and messaging, including defining how we communicate products and features, considering factors like our value proposition, target audience and competitive landscape.

📈 Optimise our Paid ads (PPC, SEO) and utilise A/B testing to increase digital performance.

🤔 Own thought leadership; host events, and podcasts, check in with our Surfers and grow the community.

⛹️ Be a core member of our early team, helping to shape the future of Surfboard and our approach to communications, growth and advertising.

Requirements:

👍 We'd love to hear from you if you:

• You have generalist experience in a growth-focused marketing role, where you’ve worn many different hats and are keen to get stuck in and make a huge impact.
• Obsessively care about customers and the need to regularly communicate with them soliciting feedback and ensuring Surfboard is making their lives 100x better.
• Have excellent communication & interpersonal skills: you are a charismatic, people-person that has the ability to talk to anyone and work in an ever-changing startup environment.
• You’re a wiz at identifying user needs by deeply understanding our customers and how our product works, to create data-driven, actionable insights for the business.
• You have a good understanding and a proven track record of executing A/B testing and growth experimentation frameworks that you’ve applied across multiple channels.
• You're confident using data to drive key marketing decisions, whether it's to understand users and identify opportunities or explore if your efforts are delivering value.
• You’re self-sufficient when creating simple marketing assets, and executing or managing paid ad campaigns (search & social).

• Want to focus only on a specific aspect of marketing we're looking for a strong generalist, someone who is equally comfortable conducting user research as they are developing our product strategy and vision for the next two years.
• Are looking specifically for line management opportunities in the near term – our focus this year is making sure we have processes that can scale, which means you'll be hands-on with everything before we grow the team.
• Aren’t comfortable using your own initiative and working with a limited budget and resources.
