Summary of Responsibilities:
To support the Group Pricing Actuary in carrying out high quality mathematical pricing and experience analyses for all relevant group products in order to ensure that pricing terms meet all relevant MetLife corporate and regulatory standards and also address customer needs and MetLife business requirements.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Carry out pricing and experience analyses (quantitative and qualitative) on existing and new business / tenders, and draft for review relevant documents in a timely manner having regard to acceptable risks and quality of data / inputs.
- Develop and maintain pricing and experience analysis models and quotation databases in line with MetLife Actuarial Pricing Standards.
- Reviewing, analysing statistical data and preparing reports for the Group Pricing Manager.
- Applying mathematical principles on all group products to ensure pricing terms are met.
- Support the Group Pricing Actuary to ensure pricing terms meet MetLife corporate profitability targets and relevant corporate and regulatory standards, including high quality documentation.
- Support the Group Pricing Actuary on assessing pricing structures and benefit designs for new products and proposed product variations including reinsurance terms.
- Maintain satisfactory working relationships with pricing team members to support the above activities.
- Provide clear specification of data / requirements for pricing to relevant stakeholders.
- Meet required due dates for pricing deliverables.
- Compile and maintain case files on scheme pricing decisions and assumptions.
- Develop and maintain strong working knowledge of the Superannuation and Group Insurance product and regulatory environment in Australia.
- Consult with relationship managers, product managers, underwriters, lawyers and claims managers where necessary to support the above.
- Share knowledge and skills with other staff.

- Successful and punctual delivery of necessary inputs to support approval of pricing analysis in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensuring that recommended terms at all times satisfy MetLife corporate profitability targets and relevant corporate and regulatory standards, including high quality documentation.

- Maintaining adequate and complete records to satisfy audit trail requirements.
- Adhering to professional actuarial standards and MetLife core values and processes.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:
- Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills.
- Good knowledge of practices, tools and techniques for effective pricing of insurance contracts.
- Strong research, mathematical and analytical and modelling experience.
- Skilled in managing large data sets used for statistical analysis.
- Excellent communications (oral and written), presentation and documentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Positive and flexible attitude to change.
- Ability to establish and maintain constructive business relationships, both internal and external.

Qualification Required:
- Degree in Actuarial Sciences, mathematics or related field.
- Some progress towards actuarial qualification is desirable.
- Excellent MS Office skills particularly Excel and Access.
Salary: $90,000 to $110,000 including super
