Disc Manufacturing Services are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and creative candidate to join our design team. Candidates should be based in or around the Plymouth area, or willing to relocate on a long-term basis for this opportunity. Location of work will be split between a city centre office environment and home working, with all necessary equipment provided in each location. 

DMS are an independent crew of musicians and creatives who specialise in the manufacture of vinyl records, discs and custom packaging. Successful applicants will

• have at least two years’ work experience in the design and/or print industry
• demonstrate an eye for design and visual composition, and attention to detail
• display a good level of proficiency in graphics packages including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop etc.
• be organised and time-efficient, and unaffected by high pressure scenarios or workloads
• demonstrate strong and positive communication skills with clients and colleagues alike
• fit in with a down-to-earth company ethos.

Helpful skills include

• a talent for illustration and producing creative concepts
• experience of the print, music and/or manufacturing industries
• a working knowledge of repro graphics and various printing methods
• a proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• experience working with creatives and/or in previous print/repro/graphics roles

 Main responsibilities after training include processing client files for production, liaising with clients to provide packaging and design solutions, providing quotations for requested products and full design setups from client brief to finished print-ready format.

Additional information

• Full ongoing training provided
• Starting salary £18,000 - £20,000 based on aptitude and previous life and work experience
• 37.5 hours a week, 4 weeks paid holiday per annum
• Annual bonus scheme and pension scheme available after a qualifying period
