Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with process owners, product SME’s, and Data Steward's across Treasury, taking ownership of data quality improvements and remediation efforts
  • Work with groups across Treasury and the wider Finance organization to capture, evaluate, identify synergies and paths of potential remediation for reported data quality issues
  • Work closely with groups across Treasury in developing understanding of information management practices including information lifecycle management, data modelling, master data management and carrying out business audits and requirements gathering
  • Analyze data from multiple sources (e.g. reports, scorecards, diagrams) to validate dimensions and impact of data quality issues
  • Analyze data to identifying data quality issues and correlating those issues with data specifications and quality rules
  • Partner with technology stakeholders and enterprise-wide business partners to conduct data diagnostic efforts, investigate root cause of findings, and present recommended options for solution(s) and remediation
  • Coordinate with other Finance Data Transformation workstreams (e.g. Governance, Controls) to ensure data remediation efforts or outcomes adhere to Finance Transformation Program project plans and requirements
  • Contribute to development and maintenance of data lineage, process maps, data concepts and glossaries
  • Own Treasury inventories of issues to catalog, monitor, assess, forecast and report on data quality issue remediation efforts
  • Develop and maintain metrics, scorecards, and dashboards to report on progress and impact of data quality remediation efforts
  • Facilitate or contribute to status meetings (recurring and ad-hoc) with required stakeholder communities (including senior management) by preparing materials and updates, summarizing issues and risks, defining agreed action items and next steps
  • Create project artifacts including, but not limited to: business and functional requirements, user acceptance test plans, and operational readiness documents

    Experience & Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree required, MBA or other advanced degree is a plus;

  • 7+ years working in the financial services industry is required
  • Broad experience of Finance or Operational/Technology function within Banking organization.
  • Outstanding analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills with ability to break challenges into component parts is critically important
  • Practical experience of relational database management, front to back system data flows, data handling, transmission, aggregation and data modelling.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with financial products life cycles and associated data needs
  • Specific knowledge of Treasury function: Liquidity, Interest Rate in Banking Book (IRRBB), Risk Weighted Asset (RWA) or Forecasting is an advantage
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including ability to present to senior management
  • Strong Influencing skills with the ability to mediate discussions and draw consensus
  • Ability to lead and drive change through creative thinking and pragmatism
  • “Can do attitude” with ability to work around challenges and uncertainties
  • Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and plan / prioritize appropriately
  • Ability to work with system users and stakeholders to elicit and formally define their requirements
  • Experience in data governance programs with knowledge of data governance principles and practices
  • Strong ability to extract information by questioning, active listening and interviewing
  • Excellent program and project management skills both waterfall and Agile e.g. Scrum
  • Experience of requirements gathering for data warehouse or similar data systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration across large organizations, including a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues/requests 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
