About the Team
The Office of the Secretary supports our leaders to develop and deliver the vision and strategy for Transport for NSW. We provide a range of services including general business and Cabinet support, corporate planning and senior reporting.
Opportunity
We have an exciting temporary 18 months opportunity for a Government Service Officer, your main objective is to provide high level support to key working areas within the Office of the Secretary, support the achievement of key milestones and deliver strong cross-government relationships. This includes responsibility for facilitating machinery-of-Government processes in a key focus area that may include State and Federal Government proposals, Ministerial briefings, Transport Cluster relations, Cabinet and Ministerial Offices

What you will be involved in
The role in the Cabinet Services team provides support for the processing of other cluster submissions for comment, preparation of Cabinet Committee meeting folders, Executive Council minutes, cabinet user administration and other administration support.
This is an interesting and challenging role in a dynamic environment that provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen your knowledge of the workings of Transport, Government and Ministerial Offices.
About you
You will have a proficient-advanced level of writing and communication skills to enable the provision of complex and sensitive information, possess an understanding of machinery of government, policies and practices.
You can exercise judgment and discharge tasks with a high level of initiative, confidentiality and discretion, you must have a demonstrated ability to analyse complex information and meet strict or shifting deadlines
You are adept at anticipating and addressing contentious issues and providing accurate advice on complex issues and legislation, often within tight timeframes, given the need to collect and assimilate information from a variety of different sources whilst maintaining confidentiality and exercising diplomacy
Successful candidates are likely to have qualifications or equivalent experience in Government Relations and Cabinet Services, or a related discipline.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 7 ($106,086 - $118,816) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
