Join us as a Governance Manager
- This is an opportunity to join a central support function within the bank, where you’ll be part of a team supporting effective decision making across our businesses, functions and services
- You’ll be helping us to achieve our strategic objectives by providing professional ESG and climate governance advice to key stakeholders across the bank
- You can expect no two days to be the same, and will gain significant exposure to senior stakeholders - including executives - as well as high profile forums
What you’ll do
As our Governance Manager, you’ll be leading ESG and climate governance advice and briefings to key stakeholders across the bank. You’ll be acting as a key adviser and committee secretary to support senior governance fora – particularly our Sustainable Banking committee – and our governance framework, while driving a consistent approach to meet the bank’s policy and best practice.
You’ll also be:
- Leading governance related projects such as board and committee evaluations, industry consultations, and reporting and accounts disclosures and filings
- Identifying opportunities to improve and simplify corporate governance or SMCR frameworks and processes
- Acting as the first point on contact for board, committee or corporate governance-related queries from relevant regulators
- Keeping up to date with all relevant legal and regulatory developments, making sure that local policies are updated accordingly
The skills you’ll need
We’re looking for a lawyer or company secretary, or someone who can bring considerable experience and a detailed understanding of corporate governance matters in a listed company or financial services context. You’ll be a collaborative team player, capable of building great working relationships and communicating effectively with people at all levels, including executive.
You’ll also need:
- Knowledge of the secretarial, legal and regulatory environment pertaining to large, complex financial service organisations
- The ability to manage highly confidential information in a discreet professional manner
- Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills, with the ability to produce comprehensive and clearly structured minutes or briefings
- The ability to manage multiple tasks, anticipate problems and react quickly to changing priorities
- To be capable in challenging others and asserting your views when needed
