  • have demonstrated experience (three to five years at minimum) in a Secretariat support role for a governance entity, preferably in the Public Service
  • have a high level of comfort working with senior leaders and in dealing with complex and technical subject matter areas
  • have proven minute-taking skills and experience at anticipating the needs of governance groups, in particular those of the Chair and the high-level needs of the organisation, where possible, to maintain the smooth operation of the governance group; and
  • understand the machinery of government, have political savvy and understand nuances of the political landscape

Salary Band: $71,787 - $84,455 (negotiable based on experience of the successful candidate)

About you | Mōu

You will be providing proactive secretariat support services to our internal governance Committees, which includes but is not limited to the scheduling, setting up and minute-taking of meetings, following up on actions, and collating and distributing of meeting papers.

In this role, you will be building strong working relationships with all members, in particular the Chair, and supporting them to consistently work at their best. This includes ensuring they are fully briefed on issues and situations that could affect their decision-making, judgement, and relationships, amongst other things.

You will be the link between the governance group and the wider organisation, by building highly effective relationships and strong connections and exercising discretion and initiative to enable information to flow efficiently between the group and the organisation.

This role will enable you to build relationships with secretariats from across government to foster shared governance knowledge and build connections
