Position Summary

The Golf Grounds Maintenance Manager is responsible for working alongside the Golf Grounds Supervisor in planning, directing and participating in the day-to-day tasks of the golf maintenance team while ensuring a well-groomed and manicured course at all times. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Hiring, training and coaching Golf Grounds Maintenance Supervisor and Golf Grounds Maintenance staff
• Complete the instruction and training of golf grounds maintenance staff regarding safe usage of machine and equipment, preventive maintenance and proper cleaning
• Identify and prioritize the day-to-day tasks for the crew and communicate these to the Supervisor for implementation
• Working with Supervisor to assist with the ongoing maintenance of greens, fairways, tee decks, driving range, including fertilizing, raking, cutting grass, weeding, pruning, etc.
• Establish and maintain relationships with golf maintenance vendors and ensure services are being performed to acceptable standard
• Supervising special projects as needed as per the Director of Operations
• Assists in the programming, repair and maintenance of irrigation systems
• Responsible for accuracy and completion of employee’s timekeeping records, creating schedules and payroll administrative
• Liaise with Resort Leadership team on various golf related tasks and duties
• Perform other golf grounds maintenance tasks as required by the Director
• Ensure all staff are working within health and safety procedures and operations
• Operate equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, golf carts, blowers etc.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-3 years supervising a maintenance team
• Golf course or landscaping experience is required
• Turf Management post-secondary education or similar discipline is required
• Good working knowledge of landscape maintenance equipment
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in all conditions
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record
• Knowledge of irrigation repairs, operation, and application
