Role purpose: Vodafone Business Ventures is the social enterprise arm of Vodafone Business. We combine Vodafone’s platforms and partnerships in cloud, connectivity and IOT with social purpose to bring innovative, verticalized solutions to customers in Vodafone’s global footprint. 

 

We are looking for an experienced Business Development and GTM Manager who will enable OpCos to commercialise Ventures’ propositions in Connected Education portfolio (UC&C, Cloud & Security) and Connected Living (IoT) in Vodafone footprint markets. The Manager will work across the Group Vodafone Business teams and EBU markets to develop an overall GTM and OpCo engagement strategy and implement it to address OpCo/customers’ needs.  The manager will also capture VBV business insight about local opportunities to inform proposition development and will support OpCo’s to drive demand for proposition and track revenue targets.  

 

The role works closely with:

  • Local markets / Vodafone Business – Product Management, Marketing & Sales, VPC 
  • Marketing peers and Lines of Business in UC& C, IOT, Cloud and Security to align on proposition and commercial targets 
  • OpCo teams in Vodafone Business Marketing and Public Sector sales teams to interlock Group propositions with local sales targets as required for Type B (Group + OpCo) and Type C (Group) products under the new Product Operating Model (POM)
     

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
GTM and Enterprise Sales strategy and content development

  • Define the GTM and Sales strategy that will drive sales opportunities and revenue by product verticals in Connected Edu and Connected Living
  • Align with Lines of Business in UC&C, Cloud and Security, IOT

 

Adoption of GTM and Sales strategy content in OpCos 

  • Create and promote core content, best practice toolkits and guidance centrally that can be customised locally for EBU teams in OpCos
  • Work closely with OpCo – EBU teams in Marketing and Public Sector sales team
  • Build a high performing Ventures community across Vodafone sharing best practice on GTM approach for CE and CL

 

Revenue management 

  • Engage with OpCos to align on commercial KPIs such as revenues, EBITDA, customer numbers for Ventures products and propositions 
  • Manage interlock with Group and OpCo planning and forecasts on Ventures portfolio
  • Support Commercial Operations with regular cadence of reporting

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • Go To Market, Sales, Business development professional with proven experience of B2B marketing in the Telecom and/or IT sector
  • Analytical skills; ability to extract and use relevant data as foundation of robust fact based strategy & planning    
  • Ability to create sales plans with clear milestones and performance tracking 
  • Dynamic, team player with experience of working in a matrix organisation
  • Inspirational and inventive mind set and storytelling capabilities, solution and audience focused making complex simple
  • Proactive and resilient, takes personal responsibility, able to lead in high-uncertainty environments and work under strong time pressure 
  • Superior influencing & presentation skills; ability to effectively influence and persuade audiences at all levels (including executive level) 

 

Desired

  • In-depth understanding of digital services market and future trends in Education and Assisted Living segments 
  • International experience preferred
  • VF Operating Company experience is highly desirable
  • The ability to quickly establish personal credibility & trust, and over time demonstrates consistent honesty, integrity & focus on the customer’s best interests
  • Empathetic and culturally sensitive active-listener skills, can understand problems and then provide valuable insights
