Job Title: General Labourer

Shift: Monday-Friday, 3pm - 11pm

Compensation: $17 per hour + premium + $1.50 (9PM-12AM)

Our Pack team is looking for a fantastic person who loves to organize and arrange food to join us as a Pack Team Member / General Labourer. If you like the sound of us so far, keep reading to see if you have the experience and skills needed for this rewarding role!

About the Role:

At the Real Food Kitchen, a team of cooks, bakers, kitchen helpers, packers, porters, and Super Drivers help to prepare, pack, and deliver nutritious and delicious meals to feed thousands of kids in the GTA. As a member of the production team, you’ll help support the production staff, and ensure that their tasks are performed effectively and to the highest possible health and safety standards. The Pack Team Member jumps in where they are needed to make sure our food gets to the kids every day.

Main responsibilities include ensuring appropriate items and quantities are packed according to the pack sheet.

Some of the things you’ll get paid to do:

Packing

Pack food according to pack sheets

Stage and pre-kit items for pack

Ensure that FIFO guidelines are followed when staging, pre-kitting or packing products

Organize, pack and palletize frozen recipe items

Conduct weekly inventory of all frozen items

Ensure that items being packed meet our quality standards, and bring issues to the attention of the kitchen manager

Assist Production Staff

Support all production related tasks associated with next day production

Assist with set-up: organizing items, weighing, and counting food items

Ensure that items being packed meet our quality standards, and bring issues to the attention of the production manager

Keep fridges and freezers organized

Clean Work Environment

Maintaining a clean work environment

Carefully follow health and safety rules

Clean-up at the end of shift

Waste Disposal

Disposal of waste in a proper and organized way

Help with waste removal

Help with dishwashing duties

Other

Carefully follow health and safety rules

Carefully adhere to all Covid-19 safety and social distancing policies

Other duties as required

About You

Positive attitude, with a passion to get things done right!

Respect for food safety practices

Hard-working

Punctual

Works well in a team environment

Ability to work on your feet for an 8-hour shift

Ability to repetitively lift a minimum of 25 kg

Ability to work in cold environments (-10 to 4 degrees Celsius)

Attention to cleanliness

Ability to read, write and speak English

Basic math skills, including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
