You will assist the Gallery Manager in all aspects of the operational running and activities associated with the galleries. With a confident and customer orientated approach you will ensure the provision of a high quality front of house service to meet visitor expectations, as well as demonstrating considerable knowledge of the current exhibition whilst stewarding the exhibition spaces to keep them secure, safe, well maintained and in a suitable condition for visitors at all times. You will support the gallery retail space, and assist in the delivery of gallery events.
A team player, you will be educated to degree level or above, preferably in a subject area relevant to heritage, art and museums, with proven experience of providing a customer-focused service. Work based experience will also be considered. You are self-motivated with excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills and you will demonstrate a flexible, engaging and positive attitude and approach to your work.
Please note that this is a temporary role. The contract is offered on a fixed hours basis, and is annualised hours over a 23 week period, w/c 11th October 2021 to Sunday 27th March 2022. Salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments, hours per month will vary depending on the needs on the business. This position will be expected to work weekends, seasonal holidays, bank holidays and on occasion evenings and late nights. Shift start time will be 9.30am.
