With our greatest assets - our premium spirits and our people – we are driving growth through impactful marketing, innovation, operational excellence and entrepreneurial spirit. Beam Suntory’s ambition is to become the most admired and fastest growing premium drinks company in the world.

Our five distilleries across Scotland produce spirit for some of the most recognized and admired brands within the Scotch whisky category. The Scotch Blending, Inventory, Cask and Supply function plays a critical role in ensuring these brands are supported with both high-quality whiskies, but also that forecasts can be delivered to support the sales forecasts globally across our markets. This requires both short term and long-term thinking.

To ensure the spirit matures into the beautiful whisky that our brands are famous for, the spirit is matured under the careful supervision of the Chief Blender and only when the whisky is ready will it be realized for bottling. To underpin crafting world-renowned brands there must be a sustainable supply available of maturing inventory.

The role of the Scotch Whisky Inventory Analyst is to play an instrumental role in ensuring short, medium and even long-term desires of the Brandhouse are assessed meticulously in-line with distillery, maturation and production capability within the Scotch Whisky Operating Unit (OU)

Role Responsibilities

The role holder will be based at our Springburn site and will be accountable for ensuring the effective utilization of the maturing inventory assets by management of blend formulae with the provision of analysis for sales forecasts regarding bulk inventory, warehouse depletions and new filling levels.

This will include in-depth analysis of volumes at age, whisky type and cask maturation level to ensure efficient use of the stocks to support formula in-line with spirits COGs targets and also assessment of spirit laydown requirements from a distillery output and cask supply perspective (the latter for both full maturation and further maturation requirements).

With a growing inventory of 900,000 casks in maturation to support the Scotch and other areas of the Beam Suntory portfolio it is essential that the role holder develop and execute the plans to ensure the Whisky profile for brands, within the remit, are aligned with the long-term vision for the brands and that stocks are available to meet the sales forecast.
