About this role
The Digital Architecture team is responsible for driving the technology transformation in BT. The Integration team is part of the Digital Enablement area within Digital Architecture. We operate as a central function with responsibility for delivering integration capabilities and services across all the lines of business within BT, but are in the midst of moving to a federated operating model. We are adopting event driven architecture to support our data and AI platforms in the cloud. BT is also part of the TM Forum and are committed to using the TMF Open Digital Architecture, particularly relevant to integration in terms of the usage of TMF Open API and TMF SID.
Integration is important because we provide consistent and reusable mechanisms for pan-BT integration that make it easy for our internal and external customers to work with us using a set of secure, performant and stable services. In this role, you will have solution architecture responsibility for conceptualising, architecting and driving the creation of an API and Data Marketplace in the cloud. You will have the opportunity to work with internal and external developer communities to evangelise the Marketplace, organise forums/hackathons and implement gamification mechanisms to increase adoption.
You'll have the following responsibilities
Create and own the technical solution for the API and Data Marketplace.
Work with vendors and strategic partners to implement new features in the Marketplace.
Conduct roadshows and presentations to evangelise the Marketplace to developer communities.
Organise hackathons to increase the adoption of our Marketplace.
Work with the lines of businesses within BT to identify and pursue new revenue opportunities
You'll have the following skills & experience
Technology design - You partner with the business to understand and analyse user requirements and inform the architecture design for software, systems and networks.
Product and service knowledge - You demonstrate subject matter expertise in complex, technical infrastructure, products and services. You develop bespoke solutions to meet short, medium and long-term customer needs.
Be agile - You identify opportunities to use collaborative approaches and continuous improvement.
You contribute to projects as a subject matter expert or content owner.
Mandatory - Strong experience of Developer Portals, Data marketplaces, ETL and API management platforms.
Mandatory – Deep expertise in API design (REST, gRPC, Async) with a background in software development.
Mandatory - ‘Can do’ pragmatic attitude keeping focused on delivery and able to withstand project pressures due to tight timelines and complexity.
Mandatory – Past experience of setting up and running a marketplace for internal and/or external developer communities.
Desirable - Awareness of regulatory and security standards around data privacy and confidentiality.
Desirable - Knowledge of onboarding processes and commercial models for marketplaces
