Working in the Manufacturing Team you will lead projects to improve and develop; production processes, equipment and working methods that increase the OEE, reduce non-value added tasks and deliver the Plymouth improvement plan
Requirements
- Support the production operations through the elimination of interruptions to production.
- Provide engineering solutions to daily production and process problems
- To project manage process improvements.
- Prepare documentation such as work specifications and timings to ensure systems are correct
- Support the development and introduction of new machinery to enhance current processes
- To play an active role in process improvement and the implementation of change
- Provide adhoc support within the business towards ensuring company objectives are achieved
Job Preview
- Must have a recognised engineering qualification or manufacturing experience
- A proven track record in product design, project management and production process improvements in a factory environment.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages such as word, excel, project and outlook
- Able to self-manage priorities to ensure tasks are completed and problems are highlighted in a timely fashion
- Ability to structure a task for others, coach staff in carrying out the task and achieve timely completion of group tasks
- Works cooperatively and effectively with others in a team to achieve shared objectives: recognises and works with other teams within the company and the HT Group
- Works in a focussed, committed and purposeful way, taking responsibility for actions; successfully overcoming obstacles to deliver timely high quality results
- Able to communicate clear and concise information both verbal and written, preparing reports as necessary to reflect project progress as required
- Effectiveness in identifying problems, seeking relevant data, recognising important information, diagnosing possible causes and taking appropriate actions to rectify problem
- Takes responsibility for business quality requirements and standards, develops processes and systems to ensure highest level of compliance
- Experience of using the lean tools SMED, TPM, VSM, etc
- Degree in an engineering discipline
