The role, which reports to the Executive General Manager Grocery in the Toll Global Logistics (TGL) Division, will have direct P&L responsibility for end-to-end supply chain solutions for one of our major clients, Woolworths.   Woolworths’ business makes up a proportion of the Grocery Division, with a significant revenue portfolio and the opportunity for substantial growth and profit for TGL.

You will be managing the client’s transport from their DCs and making sure that these operations are running smoothly and efficiently while prioritising safety and cost.   In addition, this role will be required to actively drive the growth of revenue and profitability with this customer and for seeking out new opportunities.

The role also has primary accountability for developing a strategic vision for the sector and implementing business plans which incorporate industry and customer needs that deliver the required returns and growth for Toll and that support the key focus areas. 

Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have:

• Significant experience in a senior leadership role
• Knowledge of retail and grocery operations is an added advantage but not a must
• Proven strong, pro-active safety culture and behaviour
• Sound experience in Logistics/Supply Chain Management ideally across all modes – transport, warehousing, freight forwarding
• Experience in business development and developing growth plans
• Experience in full P&L management and responsibility.
• Experience in working in a matrix business environment
• Ability to develop and mentor a high performing individuals and teams
• Awareness of ER (Employee Relations) / IR (industrial Relation) processes, including employee engagement and mitigation planning
• Understanding of COR legislation, and associated responsibilities.
