Role Objectives
- Supporting families within an outreach capacity within their own home, using interventions which improve parental capacity, family relationships, producing assessments of need leading to the improved outcomes for children under 5.
- Experience of using solution focused approach with families who are resistant to engage to ensure the child's welfare remains paramount at all times.
- Demonstrating an awareness of the impact of domestic abuse, substance and alcohol misuse, poor mental health, isolation, poor parenting, poor housing and more on childhood resilience.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team with partners in social care, health, education, housing, police and other organisations. Attending multi-agency meetings and providing reports.
- Experience of working with families whose children may be the subject of a child protection plan. Knowledge of statutory interventions will be an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience of supporting families and children with the Early Help Assessment Tool framework and fulfilling the role of Lead Professional where appropriate.
- Experience of child development, child safety, nutrition and early education.
- Knowledge of the impact of trauma and adverse childhood experiences on childhood resilience
- Experience of delivering group intervention programmes that may include evidenced based programmes: Parenting Programmes; Freedom Programme.
- Experience of completing timely recording of all meetings with the family using available systems.
