Your role

Working in our commercial team, alongside another Commercial Manager you will be responsible for determining the commercial strategy for our in store Optical departments & digital platforms. You will be expected to deliver a strong category P&L through robust business plans and negotiations with our suppliers and partners. You will be responsible for our product selection, ranging, pricing and promotions in our stores and e-commerce site, to ensure that we are delivering on our promise to our patients of accessible and affordable eyecare. 

You will work closely with the Optical team as well as a variety of internal stakeholders including compliance, operations, marketing, supply, merchandising and our Healthcare Area Managers. 

 About you

• Experience in a buying or commercial Healthcare (ideally optical) role
• Ability to manage a P&L
• Strong commercial awareness and being highly numerate
• A strong understanding of customer requirements, market trends and competitors
• Knowledge of the Optical industry and NHS would be desirable
• Previously managed a team of direct reports
• Experience in influencing at a senior level
• Good presentation & communication skills
