Job Description
Key Functions & Accountabilities:
- Oversee and be responsible for all aspects of maintenance activities related to Air Canada events with respect to the MRO.
- Accountable for the total costs of Airframe Maintenance incurred at the assigned MRO.
- As the designated Air Canada Site Manager represent ACM Management to the MRO and be accountable for all on-site contractual and commercial issues.
- Direct and provide leadership to the on-site ACM Technical Team.
- Manage KPI’s with the Vendor and using Continuous Improvement principles ensure ACM is able to continuously improve its Maintenance Programs and costs of maintenance and turn-around-times.
Key Activities:
- Convene and conduct all Aircraft pre-induction meetings
- Provide overall guidance and direction to the on-site ACM team
- Hold overall accountability for adherence to Transport Canada, Air Canada and any other applicable regulatory authority quality and process requirements by the MRO
- Clearly understand and manage all contractual compliance issues related to the check
- Participate to the MRO Daily Production Meetings and actively engage in the conversation to ensure the check progress is meeting the daily target
- Authorize work scope variations, over & above labour and material costs including impacts on the TAT.
- Provide daily feedback to the appropriate Air Canada departments, including a documented problem and resolution spreadsheet, outlining issues, and corrective action plans.
- Implement Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for the MRO.
- Liaise with Flight Operations in support of check/ferry/positioning flights.
- Manage any local issues of hotel, transportation, work permits, or civil authority/police events that might affect the ACM on-site team.
- Approve all Vendor invoices prior to their submission to Air Canada Accounts Receivable
- Brief flight crew on maintenance check flight requirements and aircraft check history.
- Conduct and document check post-mortem meetings with the MRO to identify any issues for further resolution and any opportunities for Continuous Improvement.
Qualifications
- Degree / Diploma or equivalent in Airframe & Engine maintenance.
- Holder of a current ICAO Type 2 AME License (on applicable type preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in the execution of large transport category aircraft heavy maintenance
- Minimum 5 years supervisory/management experience in a technical field
- Good knowledge of Transport Canada aviation regulations and norms
- Good knowledge of large transport category aircraft heavy maintenance work processes
- Good knowledge of invoicing and financial reconciliation procedures
- Good knowledge on MS Windows, MS office, MS Project
- Familiar with TRAX operating procedures
- Familiar with Air Canada company procedures
- Demonstrated effective communication ability (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain B2B relationships at a senior level in
- organizations
- Basic knowledge of aircraft maintenance contracts & contracting
- Experience in large scale program and project planning
- Experience in developing or managing MRO contracts
- Experience in B2B relationship management
