Position Summary
The Floater ideally must have comprehensive knowledge in receiving, shipping, shunting and order picking and work under minimal supervision. The purpose of this position is to accurately transfer product, both physically and logically, into and/or out of warehouse locations, load/unload trailers, move product throughout the facility with powered industrial equipment and perform inventory counts as required.
Duties/Responsibilities
° Understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc.
° Ability to use programs such as Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
° Ability to use scanners
° Ability to read and do basic mathematics
° Ability to enter orders into a Warehouse Management System
° Must be able to lift 25 to 50 lbs. unassisted
° Experience with the use of forklifts and pallet jacks
° Prepare shipping documents and labels
° Check products being shipped to ensure quality, and that industry standards are met before they are declared ready for use.
° Pick customer orders.
° Must certify for material handling equipment (lift truck, tuggar, etc.)
° Pull inventory from warehouse to ready for packaging
° Assist with cycle counting and inventory control
° Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
° High school diploma or equivalent work experience
° Strong verbal and written communication skills
° Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
° Must be able to work both indoors and outside
° Ability to create and maintain outstanding relationships with all levels of the company
° Ability to multi-task and maintain a clean and organized work area
° Must have a valid driver’s license.
