Fleet Commercial and Reporting Manager

You will lead and manage the Central Fleet Team ensuring that all relevant financial and administrative activity are planned and undertaken in a timely manner. You will ensure that all performance related reports are highlighted to the business to enable improvements on profit and performance as well as being compliant with transport and other relevant legislation.

You will be accountable for:

  •  Working with senior stakeholders to prepare and deliver the Fleet Business Plans aligned to the Company Fleet Strategy.
  • Seeking opportunities to influence Operational Managers and stakeholders to realise cost saving opportunities in Fleet.
  • Ensuring Fleet Operational Plans are subject to robust challenge to ensure they are implemented to realise cost saving opportunities
  • Producing annual budgets for your area including 6+6 reforecast (or more)
  • Ensuring the delivery of Fleet KPI’s and costs, and taking relevant remedial action where required.
  • Reporting on Fleet KPI’s and costs to a wide audience up to board level.
  • The production of weekly and periodic reports for each Depot including detailed commentary on the successes and the opportunities available.
  • Producing weekly/monthly financial reports of vehicle costs and making recommendations for cost savings.
  • Holding the Depots and Hubs to account on vehicle costs and numbers.
  • Ensuring all Fleet targets are met including setting and following up on agreed actions with senior stakeholders and managers to ensure they are completed within the timeframe and extent agreed.
  • Managing a team to convert commitments into detailed tactical operational solutions that support the functional strategy.
  • Supporting the development of Fleet financial awareness in Depots and Hubs
 To be successful in this role you will require the following… 
Qualifications:Educated to degree standard, holding a full professional accounting qualification with post qualified experienceStrong IT skills and knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word etc.
Knowledge & Experience:Experience of the logistics and supply chain industry advantageousExperience of working in a fast-paced growing businessBusiness partnering at a senior and functional levelProactive approach to building or improving the financial health of a large area or stand alone business
Technical & People Skills:Experience of managing a remote team is advantageousAbility to work with non-finance colleagues able to articulate financial nuances to a varied audienceVery numerate and analytical, with commercial acumen to evaluate business plans.
Impact & InfluenceAbility to build credible relationships at all levels and influence a wide range of stakeholdersCalming influence able to juggle a large and varied workloadConfident, assertive communicator able to voice opinions that influence critical decision makingAbility to act as the conscious of the budget holders to control spend
