Our family owned Invercargill based client whose family is still in the business today has been in operation for over 70 years providing high quality engineering work to the Southland region.

With a team of 22 and with continued growth they are seeking a Trade Qualified Fitter Welder to join the team.

The job

Our client is a very well-known and well respected Engineering firm who's cliental consist of Manufacturing business's , Agricultural customers and Industrial industries.

From heavy fabrication, modifications, welding, machining, repairs / maintenance & architecture in the agricultural and Industrial Industries the work is varied and no two days are the same.

This role is both workshop and site based and also consists of break down work.

• About you;
• The ideal candidate will be trade qualified as a fitter welder with a minimum of 2 years' experience and will have the following skills and attributes;
• Competent in the use of general workshop equipment including saws, brake presses, guillotines, rolls, drills, grinders, punch & shear machines, overhead gantries.
• Must be competent in the use of Mig and Stick welders and have solid experience in all positional welding.
• Competent in Fabrication skills utilising carbon steel and at times alloy and Stainless Steel.
• Competent in the use of hand tools including drills, disk grinders.
• Have fault finding abilities along with experience in repairs and maintenance.
• Have basic drawing skills and understand how to read engineering drawings
• Work can be at height & in confined spaces so must be comfortable working in these types of areas.
• A full drivers licence
• The ability to work overtime & be flexible in the hours of work
• Basic computer / internet skills
