The opportunity

Right now, we have an opportunity available for a qualified and accredited Field Assessor to join the ESI team. Working under the guidance of the Principal Assessor, you will be joining a small, specialised team responsible for training and assessment of Sydney Trains staff in all facets of Low Voltage and High Voltage switching, including hazard identification.

With access to the use of a company vehicle, this role will see you visiting sites across the entire Sydney Trains network on a regular basis so a current drivers licence is a must!

As a Field Assessor you will:

• Assess competency of staff in all facets of Low Voltage, High Voltage and 1500V DC switching including correct skill and safety procedures
• Conduct assessments to ensure that the instances of non-conformance have been addressed appropriately
• Review competency standards and contribute to electrical training to ensure that electrical safe work provisions are incorporated into the relevant training modules
• Monitor and report on the impact of change initiatives in switching infrastructure and technology
• Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff about criteria to gain competencies and accreditations.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications (Trade or Diploma level) in Electrical or equivalent relevant experience
• Workplace Assessor qualification – minimum TAESS00015 or an equivalent qualification
• Be an Electrical Authorised Officer or Operator

• Working knowledge of relevant codes of practice, standards, legislation, and regulations
• Demonstrated experience in the design or construction or maintenance of rail electrical infrastructure and related assets
• Must hold a current drivers licence
• Extensive experience in operations of Low Voltage, 1500V and High Voltage switching ideally understanding how it pertains to Sydney Trains.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is RC6 ($127,559 - $141,442) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
