RESPONSABILITIES: to assist with all aspects of farming enterprise.

The DFA is responsible for helping the employer with the daily management of stock including stock rotation and pasture management.

Specific duties include:

- Responsible for all aspects of feed management (assessment, allocation, conservation and production).
- Monitoring and meeting animal health needs. Responsible of animal treatments and recording.
- Responsible and ensuring the dairy and animal sheds meet necessary standards of hygiene.
- Responsible for vehicles and machinery supervision and maintenance.
- Responsible for general farm repairs and maintenance.
- Responsible for weed control.

The DFA must provide support to the employer to ensure daily operations support the objectives and strategic direction of the farm.
The DFA needs to have a team approach to the work activities on the farm and maintain a good communication with the rest of the team.
The DFA must comply with OSH requirements and promote a safe and pleasant work environment.
The DFA must make sure accommodation and grounds are kept tidy and clean.
The DFA will undertake or attend relevant training or industry field days, farm discussion groups as agreed with management.
